LANAO del Norte — About 50 high school students of Pigcarangan Integrated School in Lanao del Norte received educational cash assistance from the provincial government through its “Gikan sa Probinsiya, Para sa Masa: Education Program.”
Pigcarangan Integrated School is the first time recipient of this education program initiated by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Annabelle S. Mendez.
The program is intended to provide cash assistance of P3,500 to less fortunate but deserving students identified and endorsed by the school principal.
The cash received will be used for purchasing school uniforms, physical education uniform, payment for school miscellaneous as well as other needed school supplies to help sustain the education of the students.
The provincial government is generous to help students who have the potential to excel but could not sustain their education due to financial constraints. This is the main reason the program still continues since it began three years ago.
As scholars of PSHS, parents will no longer have the burden to finance the education of their children. In addition, students are not only indulged in high quality of education but are also trained to be good and responsible citizens of the country. (pio ldn)
