By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent THE company that has been contracted to collect garbage in the city is the same firm that constructed the four-story, 80-classroom building at the Cagayan de Oro National High School in Barangay Nazareth, the Moreno administration’s biggest school project so far since 2013. The public school project, which cost city hall some P120 million, was turned over by Mayor Oscar Moreno to the education department yesterday morning. (PHOTO BY NITZ ARANCON) City engineer  Rolando Pacuribot said the P120 million came from the local school board fund, and it was constructed by IPM Development Corp. IPM is the same company that has been collecting garbage in the city since 2013. Pacuribot said it took a year and a half to complete the public school project. The building has 7x9-meter classrooms, each with toilets. Each classroom could accommodate as many as 50 students, he said. Before the construction project, Moreno said the public school had about four thousand students and only 36 classrooms. The problem, he said, adversely affected the studies of students. Meanwhile, Moreno has called for a collaboration between city hall and  the office of Rep. Maximo Rodriguez Jr. of the city’s 2nd District so they could implement more meaningful projects together. “Daghan kaayo ang angay pagabuhaton, lakip na sa drainage and road projects, coastal and diversion roads,” he said.
