A 47-year-old motorcycle driver met his instantaneous death after he crashed into a garbage truck at 2:30 am, yesterday.
A police investigator identified the victim as Arlan Torres, a resident of Villa Trinitas, Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City.
In an initial investigation, it was revealed the incident occurred at Masterson Avenue, Upper Carmen in the same city.
Flores, according to the police report was driving a Honda 110 with plate number 922 KEC heading in the south direction when he accidentally crashed the rear portion of the said vehicle.
Garbage truck driver Jonathan Balsamo, 58 of Zone 9, Patag of the same city, told police his driven truck was idle together with other vehicles on the right side of the road when the said incident happened.
“Nakidnat ko kay hag-as lang naay kusog kaayo nga lagubo sa among likod. Pagtan-aw sa akong kauban motor man diay,” Balsamo said.
Balsamo was driving the said unit with plate number CAE-5408 registered under the name IPM Construction and Development Corporation.
The city’s rescue team rushed Flores who sustained severe injuries to the different parts of his body to JR Borja General Hospital only to be declared dead upon arrival.
