By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent THE widow of a slain former municipal administrator of Claveria in Misamis Oriental accused a group of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents and a police official of murdering her husband last year, and making it appear that it was an anti-drug operation. Maria Leoruppe Barros alleged that her husband was in bed when law enforcers barged into their farmhouse in Sitio Dumagook, Barangay Sta. Cruz in Claveria, and shot him in August  2016. But it was far from being an anti-drug operation because the PDEA and the police had nothing that can be used as evidence of wrongdoing against her husband Benildo “Andy” Barros, she said. The widow alleged that law enforcers planted evidence against her husband. Benildo was a former town administrator of ex-mayor Redentor Salvaleon. On Friday, the widow pressed a string of charges against PDEA regional director Adrian Albarino and his agents Vincent Orcales, Emil Anchita, Expedito Cardona Jr., Jayvee Mar Bautista, Joerick Tacal, a John Doe and a Jane Doe, and Claveria police station commander Chief Insp. Salvador Ruzgal Castillon Jr.. They were charged with grave misconduct and  conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, murder, robbery, coercion, arbitrary detention, abuse in the service of a search warrant, searching domicile without a witness, and perjury in violation of the Revised Penal Code. In a six-page affidavit-complaint, Ms. Barros said the law enforcers staged the raid at around 5 am  Aug. 11, 2016 while her husband was asleep. She said the law enforcers, wearing masks, shot her husband without any provocation, and then planted illegal  drugs, firearms and a grenade. “The illegal  drugs and paraphernalia, firearms  and explosive  allegedly seized from my late husband’s possession were already prepared and marked by the PDEA agent before being shown to the witnesses to the inventory and who had not witnessed the search conducted when these were allegedly  discovered,” reads part of Barros’s affidavit. Barros was accompanied by a battery of lawyers when she submitted her complaint to Jonathan Pineda of the satellite office of the ombudsman here at around 2:20 pm on Friday. Her lawyers include outgoing Integrated Bar of the Philippines local chapter president Rey Raagas, former IBP chapter president Robert Raypon, former Cagayan de Oro Press Club president Bobby Goking, Eddie Cuaresma and Rico Pajo. Raagas said the former Claveria administrator had threatened to expose corruption involving the town police before he was killed.
