City council declares all committees vacant

By Nora Soriño
Iligan City Bureau Chief .

ILIGAN City — In a regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod early this week, the members agreed to declare “all committees vacant.”

This was after Councilor Noli Pardillo moved to declare all committees vacant of which his colleagues readily agreed.

However, it was also agreed that the committee vacancies would take effect only beginning of January next year.

All members of the city council will still hold on to their respective committee chairmanships and memberships up to the end of this month.

It was learned though that Councilor Queenie Belmonte does not have a committee. To note, she does not belong to the party or ticket of incumbent Mayor Celso G. Regencia.

The mayor’s party mates say that she did not accept the committee that was assigned to her.
