Moreno said his plan is to submit his proposed annual budget to the city’’s legislature by the third week of October.

“Basi sa bala-od, ang submission sa proposed budget to the city council  for the succeeding year, sa ika duha o ika tulong simana sa October,” Moreno said.

He said he has already tasked city budget officer Percy Salazar to look into the proposed annual budget and prepare of the documents needed to support the proposal.

He said the City Budget Office would determine if a P5-billion budget was possible. If not, he said, adjustments would have to be made.

Moreno called the proposed P5-billion annual budget “ambitious.”

“Wala may bayad ang pag-ambition, so mangambisyon  lang  ta kay  ang kalamposan sa bisan unsa nga butang sa kalibutan,  magsugod ra kini sa ambition,” he said.

In 2015, Moreno proposed a P4.8-billion budget for this year. The city council then approved only a P2.2-billion budget. But in July, the new city council gave the Moreno administration P1.2 billion more.
