ILIGAN City–Police yesterday warned displaced Maranaos who have sought refuge in this city against engaging in the distribution of illegal drugs here.

The warning came even as Iligan police director Supt. Leony Roy Ga claimed that some Maranao evacuees have brought their “illegal activities” into the city.

Ga said the police caught some of the suspects and more were being  closely monitored.

He said authorities “won’t take this sitting down.”

Ga said some barangays have been “penetrated” but he declined to identify any.

He said the suspects would be subjected to “Oplan Tokhang” operations. “Wala tay pagpili sa pagtokhang.”

Meanwhile, Ga said the police would beef up security measures in the city ahead of the city’s fiesta activities next month.

He said he was expecting reinforcement or about 50 more officers from other areas.
