City police director Col. Henry Dampal identified the suspects as Charlie Demoral, 39, of San Isidro Labrador, Lapasan; Reymund James Eco, 35, of Purok 2-A Gusa; Erika Echem, 32, of Capricorn Street, Villa Ernesto Subdivision;

Eleazar Joshua Aque, 21, of Purok 2C, Gusa; Danilo Cabalda Jr., 34, of Vamenta Subdivision, Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental; and Celso Guardiaryo a.k.a. Dodong Vulcate, 23, of Zone 8, Bulua.

Demoral was arrested at his residence at 7 pm. Police seized four sachets of suspected shabu, a P1-thousand marked money, and a mobile phone.

Meanwhile, suspect Eco, was arrested with Echem, Ague, and Cabalda while they were allegedly having a “session” in Eco’s house.

Seized were three sachets of suspected shabu, a roll of aluminum foil, two unsealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu residues, a digital weighing scale, five disposable lighters, a bamboo clipper, an improvised gutter, three tooters, a needle all made of aluminum foils, 16 unsealed sachets, a scissor, and a mobile phone.

Dampal said Eco was in jail in 2016 and was released in 2018 after availing of a plea bargaining program. He said Eco’s previous case was also drug-related.

Also arrested Wednesday was Guardyaryo, a former inmate at the Lumbia city jail for a drug-related case.

Guardyaryo was arrested along the diversion road of Zone 8, Bulua on Wednesday night. He yielded a P500 bill allegedly used as entrapment money — he only had personal money of P200 and a mobile phone. Authorities also seized a motorcycle driven by the suspect.

Dampal said all the suspects would be charged with violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
