Appointed to head the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) and civil security team of the local government was Rizalino Borlagdatan, a newly retired police colonel who headed the logistics office of Camp Alagar.

The Gold Star Daily learned over the weekend that Borlagdata’s appointment took effect Jan. 2, the first working day of the new year.

Moreno said Borlagdata would serve in the local government as an “organic” official in the RTA.

He said his decision to hire Borlagdata was based on the recommendation of city police director Col. Henry Dampal and other Camp Alagar officials who see the retired police colonel as an asset in traffic management at this time when the vehicular traffic problem in the city is worsening.

Moreno said he went over Borlagdata’s record, reviewed a list of training attended by the retired colonel, including one in East Timor, and became optimistic that the former police official would be able to properly manage the city’s vehicular traffic.

He also said, ”Sa iyang training sa East Timor, kaya niya ang trabaho isip chief sa civil security.”

Moreno called on RTA personnel to fully support Borlagdata as he prepares to carry out a traffic management plan for the city.

“Dili lang kana, I want them to have respect aron dunay ilang harmonious relationship, ug magtrabaho sila as a team kay lisod kaayo kon wala silay disiplina,” Moreno said.

This week, Borlagdata is expected to be confronted with the challenge of managing the flow of vehicular traffic during the Jan. 9 annual Traslación in time for the Feast of the Black Nazarene in the city.
