Gov. Unabia’s Focus on Education Sector Bears Fruit

During his administration, Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” Unabia has spearheaded numerous projects and programs aimed at bolstering the education sector in the province.

With a keen focus on education, the governor has directed efforts towards the Provincial Youth Development Office, Provincial Early Childhood Care Development, Iskolar Ko Ng Bayan program, Provincial Library, and Provincial Population Office.

Under his leadership, twenty Child Development Centers and seven school buildings, facilities, and covered courts have been constructed across various areas of the province.

Moreover, over one hundred Out-Of-School Youth have benefitted from free training provided by the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Additionally, 736 Child Development Workers have received honorariums for their dedication and service.

Furthermore, more than five thousand IKNB Scholars have been awarded scholarships back in 2023, valued at six million pesos. Plans are underway to double this number to ten thousand scholars by the end of 2024.

Governor Unabia has also allocated 70 million pesos in funding for scholars pursuing courses such as Law, Medicine, Nursing, RadTech, and Social Work.

In addition, reading kits worth over twenty-one million pesos have been distributed to Grade School Pupils province-wide, enhancing literacy and learning.

Not forgetting the importance of sports, the governor has allocated five million pesos to support regional, national, and international athletic meets. Additionally, over six million pesos worth of sports equipment and electronics have been provided to Sangguniang Kabataan Councils.

These initiatives align with Governor Unabia’s PAGLAUM Development Agenda, focusing on Aggressive Programs for Youth Welfare and Development, and Mobilization of Resources Thru Equitable Sharing.
