“We can only be successful against combating corona virus-19 if each of us will take heed on the government’s call stay at home,” Rep. Rolando Uy said.

Uy, who voluntarily locked himself inside his residence at Gumamela extension in Barangay Carmen said, residents should heed the local government’s call because this will ultimately benefit all people in the city.

It can be recalled that last Friday City Mayor Oscar Moreno issued an executive order to implement the community quarantine wherein, he pleaded for everyone to stay at home.

Uy said since he returned from Manila last week he did not go out from his house except for important meetings in relation to the Covid-19 issue. He said he has also limited visitors to come to his house except for those who are asking for assistance.

“Dili ni basta-basta nga virus. Dili ni mupili og kahimtang sa tawo busa giaghat ko gyud tanan nga magpatoo sa hangyo sa atong mayor sa pagpuyo nalang sa balay kung wala ka man lang importanting tuyo sa gawas,” Uy said.

The congressman said Cagayanons should not be too complacent in dealing with the problem. They should always be in guard. Uy said, in the meantime, he refrained shaking hands with anybody and observes social distancing.

“Not that I’m already paranoid, but I am just very careful not to be infected or it could be me who has the virus that could possibly transfer it to the person whom I touch with,” Uy said in jest.
