SAGUIARAN, Lanao del Sur – 251 stranded students of Mindanao State University (MSU) were transported back to their homes thru the transportation assistance and security provided by the military in Lanao del Sur today, April 24, 2020.

Army’s 82nd Infantry Battalion, 49IB, 55IB and 12th CMO Battalion of the 103rd Infantry (HARIBON) Brigade in collaboration with the Lanao del Sur – Inter Agency Task Force (LDS – AITF) for the Management of COVID-19, Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, and officials of MSU assisted the return of stranded students to their homes in 25 municipalities of Lanao del Sur.

Said stranded students failed to return to their homes when the whole province of Lanao del Sur was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine on March 17, 2020 to April 14, 2020 and was extended up to April 30, 2020.

Out of the 905 stranded students, there are still 654 students residing outside Lanao del Sur waiting to be transported back to their respective residences.

The 103rd Infantry Brigade under the leadership of COL JOSE MARIA R CUERPO II INF (GSC) PA is working closely with the concerned offices and agencies to fast tract the return of stranded students to their respective homes.

“Your Philippine Army in Lanao del Sur is always at your service”. Said COL CUERPO.

Meanwhile, initial coordination has already been made to identify the requirements and arrangements for the said transport.
