MARAWI City ― “We never imagined that our city, our homeland would turn to ashes. We never imagined that one day we would leave our beloved home.”

These were the words shared by Junairah Busran Inok, wife of Aquil Lumampa Razuman while securing a knot at the end of the malong she was wearing.

“We lost millions and even lost the lives of our beloved relatives. But here we remain – standing and continuing to live, starting our lives here in Iligan City,” she added.

After receiving the Livelihood Settlement Grant given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, they decided to put up a business in Iligan City to support the daily needs of their family.

Thankful for the assistance given them, the couple said the grant they received would be a big help not only for them to pay their loans and debts, but also to start anew with their small business.

In God’s Will, one day everything that has gone will be changed with more blessings,” said Junairah. (DSWD-10)
