“This is to ensure the active participation of all sectors of the society in the pursuit of the country’s peace agenda,” Mariano said.

The activity is part of the implementation of Executive Order No.70 (EO70), according to Mariano.

Mariano explained that the main purpose of activity is to develop professional CAAs as peace partners of the province of Misamis Oriental and serve as a ready reserve force for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division in providing security services while combating COVID-19 Pandemic.

The activity was opened by 58IB commander Lt. Col. Ricky L Canatoy and MPC station manager Gaudencio C Bascon Jr. with representatives from 4ID Training School headed by Major Latris.

The candidates also underwent the required physical and medical examination facilitated by the MPC-BPS to determine their military readiness.

“The Army is very confident that we can achieve our mission through the support and assistance of other agencies like the MPC,” said Canatoy.

In his statement, Canatoy said, the activity is a concrete example of the whole-of-nation approach that the government had implemented to attain inclusive and sustainable peace.

“Thank you MPC for your continuing support to the 58IB in reaching communities including the far-flung areas,” said Canatoy.

Aside from the training, the MPC have various livelihood projects intended for the Conflict Affected Areas (ConAAs) and the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).
