The suspect was identified as Junryl “Jojo” Cabañez, 33, of Kalantas Street, PN Roa subdivision.

Police apprehended one Grace Laroche, 45, a widow, from Zone 5, Igpit, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Laroche, Saluta said, was the companion of Cabañez when the operation took place.

“Kadto pa si Grace (Laroche) ang misinggit nga pulis ang ka transact ni Jojo (Cabañez). Mao ning namusil og una si Jojo ug mibalos lang sab akong tawo,” Saluta said.

Found at the crime scene were a small sachet of alleged shabu, a black pouch containing sachets of alleged shabu with estimated worth street value to P36,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, and a caliber .45 pistol bearing serial number 195285 inserted with magazine loaded with four ammunition.

Laroche said she had nothing to do with Cabañez’s activities.

She said she was in the area that time because she was assisting Cabañez in transfering his belongings to his newly rented apartment.

“Sa akong balay sa Igpit, Opol man gud na siya pirmiro nag renta unya samokan ko kay daghan pirmi mga tawo ga bisita sa iya bisan kaadlawon. Mao tong ako siyang gipapahawa didto ug ako mismo nangita’g marentahan niya,” Laroche explained.

Saluta said his men had been monitoring Cabañez for months and that he was always seen with Laroche wherever he went.

Jaraula, who is still now being treated in one of the private hospitals will undergo a surgery. (Joey Nacalaban)
