A Philippine Red Cross ambulance team responded to a vehicular accident along Rodolfo Pelaez Boulevard in Barangay Carmen last Friday.

The motorcycle driver suffered minor injuries as he crashed to another motorcycle. The other driver was transported by another medical team.

However, the patient inside the ambulance, after being given care to his wounds and routine check of his vital signs, refused to be transported to a nearby hospital.

Cagayan de Oro’s emergency response system is still adapting to a series of refusals as most of the patients are in fear of contracting the Covid-19 virus and refused care by the hospitals. (Glenn Palacio)
