“Our aim is to get as many of .our people tested so that we can immediately isolate those who are affected and prevent the non-carriers from acquiring the virus. We really have to ramp up testing to ensure victory over Covid,” Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO, Sen. Richard J. Gordon said.

The Cagayan De Oro molecular laboratory, with state of the art equipment which can process 4,000 tests a day, is made possible with the assistance provided by Reckitt Benckiser (RB) Inc., manufacturer and distributor of Lysol, the leading disinfectant in the market.

“We intend to put more laboratories, Zamboanga, Surigao and Cotabato, to cover the island provinces of the country,” Gordon adds.

To date, the PRC ranks no.1 in testing and has conducted a total of 913,919 Covid-19 tests, 26 percent of the total tests conducted nationwide. (PR)
