Yesterday, the regional epidemiology surveillance and disaster response unit (Resdru) of the Department of Health Region 10 validated 13 fresh infections in Cagayan de Oro, the city’s lowest number of cases in a day since Oct. 25.

The 13 new Covid-19 patients, just a case over the last record low, was indicated in the DOH 10 Covid-19 briefer that was posted online last night.

These brought the city’s total confirmed cases to 2,112 since the health pandemic broke out in March this year, of which 578 patients remain infectious while 67 had expired.

The DOH 10 Covid-19 briefer also tagged 26 other severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (Sars-Cov-2) infected persons to Misamis Occidental (19), Iligan (5), and Misamis Oriental (2).

It recorded 61 recoveries for the region, of which 16 were from Cagayan de Oro while the rest were Lanao del Norte (16), Iligan (13), Bukidnon (12), and Misamis Occidental (4).

So far, Northern Mindanao has 5,902 cumulative confirmed cases since March this year, of which 1,075 remain active either admitted in hospitals or isolated in temporary treatment and monitoring facilities.

Though Covid-19 has claimed 162 lives in the region, so far, the rest of those who contracted the virus had recovered.
