“The vehicles will be primarily used to deliver basic services to the people of Misamis Oriental,” said Interior and Local Government provincial director Marisia Naybe.

Naybe said that the authority to purchase of the vehicles were issued by the DILG.

“The DILG is part of the issuance of the authority,” she said, adding that their Central Office has given the provincial government the authority after it has submitted complete requirements and endorsements down from all levels.

According to the DILG, the new vehicles deliver good governance for the constituents , thus, acquiring the vehicles also means it could deliver good services to people.

Misamis Oriental governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano led the blessing and turnover of the new vehicles to 169 drivers, including alternative drivers on Thursday morning.

The provincial government spent some P118.5 Million for the 64 purchase vehicles including 41 pick ups and 23 vans, according to Emano.

Emano said the new vehicles will be used to deliver basic services for the constituents of the province.

All 64 vehicles have been blessed and were officially turned over to 169 drivers, including alternative drivers, said Emano.

“The vehicles will strengthen the delivery of services throughout the Capitol and that will surely prove their importance during this time of Covid,” said Emano.

Emano also reminds the drivers to take care of the vehicles and report to him if any of the drivers abuse their power in using government owned vehicles. (Shiela Mae Butlig)
