The number has reached 15 individuals identified as high-risk close contacts of the new cases of Delta variant in Cagayan de Oro. Dr. Ted Yu, medical officer of the City Health Office, revealed that the aforementioned close contacts were placed in the city isolation units to prevent the further spread of the virus.

It can be recalled that the city has recorded nine new cases of the Delta virus after the result from the Philippine Genome Center came back positive on October 11.

Of the nine cases of the Delta variant, six have clinically recovered, two tested negative with the RT-PCR, and one passed away, Dr. Yu further added.

The ones that came up positive in batch 10 were from barangays Tignapoloan, Camaman-an, Balulang, Bulua, Consolacion, and Bonbon.

Data from the City Health Office revealed that 91 have been infected with the Delta variant, where 81 were clinically recovered or came up negative in the RT-PCR, eight have passed away, and two have been re-tagged.
