“This typhoon Odette (Rai) is almost like Haiyan. In fact, in some places, it hit us more than Haiyan,” described Philippine Red Cross( PRC) Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon. He added that the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Odette affected morale because these people have no water, no access to communication, no access to medical facilities, and no electricity.

Urgently responding to the devastation caused by Odette, PRC volunteers rushed to the affected areas in Visayas and Mindanao to care for the victims by providing them access to basic services including access to safe, sufficient water supply and improved sanitation especially to the most vulnerable. “With our goal to have the Red Cross in every corner of the country, we are ready to reach out and send hope to those in need whoever, whenever, and wherever they may be,” reiterates Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon.
