A 32-year old fisherman is now in jail in Iligan City after he was arrested on Wednesday at 9:35 pm for rape.
Iligan City Police Office Director Police Col. Dominador Estrada identified the suspect as Jemuel Abucay, residing at Purok Orchids, Barangay Sto. Niño, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Abucay, according to the police report, is also the number 2 most wanted person at the station level of the said city.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Anisah Umpa, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court-Branch 2, Family Court, 12th Judicial Region, Iligan City dated February 9, 2016.
The arrest was a joint operation between elements of the tracker team from Iligan City Police Station 2 led by Police Lt Sedrix Mag-Abo under the supervision of Police Major Marvin Cajegas, Officer-In-Charge, Police personnel from Kabasalan Municipal Police Station, Zamboanga Sibugay led by Police Major Rommel Lamberte, acting chief of Police and Police Major Rixell Torayno, Chief CIDMU, ICPO under the supervision of Police Lt. Noel Lomente.
The suspect is temporarily placed at the custodial facility of the Iligan Police Office for proper disposition.
