AFTER serving a five-year sentence for illegal drug use in jail, an ex-convict was arrested for the same offense again during a buy-bust operation together with three construction workers yesterday afternoon.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Misamis Oriental agent Expedito Cardona, identified the suspect as JB Reyos, 52, a resident of Ilaya, Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.
Reyos was with three other companions inside his residence when PDEA agents barged into his house.
The three suspects were identified as Ala Porque, Sudam Aban, and Francis Calinawan, all are connected with the construction firm that currently constructed the river dike at the said barangay.
Confiscated from them were nine sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P68,000, three plastic packs containing dried marijuana amounted to P3,000, drug paraphernalia, a mobile phone, and a pouch.
Cardona said Reyos, aside from using drugs, will also be facing a case for allegedly maintaining a drug den.
“Nadakpan na ni siya niadtong tuig 2015 kay nahalambigit sa iligal nga druga. Napriso siya mga lima ka tuig. Abi ko’g nag usab na mao man diay gihapon. Karon maintaining a drug den na gyud iyang atubangon,” Cardona said.
Cardona also revealed that in their weeks of surveillance on the suspect, they observed that many individuals just come and go from Reyos’ residence.
He said they learned that some of them are taxi drivers, jeepney drivers, and habal-habal drivers.
Reyos, when interviewed, said his visitors are his friends and they were in his house to cook food for their meal that evening.
