A 24-year-old Balingasag resident was arrested by the police in connection with a sexual abuse case, over the weekend.
Police Col.Gonzalo Villamor, Officer-in-Charge, Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Office Director, identified the suspect as Romeo Altamera, single, and a resident of Barangay Linabu, Balingasag of the said province.
A tracker team from Balingasag Municipal Police Station together with Maramag operatives arrested the suspect at his residence.
The said arrest was by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of Statutory Rape.
A court Judge recommended the suspect no bail bond for his supposed temporary liberty.
Altamera is now temporarily detained at Balingsag police station for booking and proper disposition.
The suspect is now detained at Balingasag Municipal Police Station for booking and proper disposition.
Villamor commended the operating personnel for a job well done and encouraged them to continue their unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal activities within the province and keep on reinvigorating its anti-criminality campaign.
