THOUGHTS and Notions band officially released its first-ever Christmas song to join the whole nation in celebrating the fast-approaching season of joy and giving.
The song “What real Christmas means to me” is pop and rock music that was written and arranged by the duo of Johann Tanchangco and Wilbert Tan.
The song depicts a message to refocus on what the season really means since Christmas seemed to be over-commercialized.
The first two stanzas say, “It’s not about the gifts I receive nor about the victories I achieve, it’s about the boy on the manger that brings us all together.”
Tanchangco thought of having it in a ballad, but Tan had a better idea to win the youth with their genre—pop and rock.
“I did suggest for (a) ballad, but I like Wilbert’s idea all the more,” said Tanchangco, who manages the band for more than 12 years.
The band has been back from a 12 years hiatus and officially returned in October last year.
The songwriting duo of Tanchangco and Tan got help from different local artists such as the band performer from Tirada and Elvis Rock Cabillar of the band Bloodflowers, who was a nominee in the 13th PMPC Star Awards for Rock Artist of the Year.
Wile Lile and AJ Alburo also gave great help with the music.

Tanchangco hoped that this message of Christmas will be heard by the youth about what true Christmas is all about.
