GOOD weather conditions cooperated with the successful opening of the Misamis Oriental’s 10th Kuyamis Festival this afternoon (3 pm) at the Misamis Oriental Integrated Sports Complex in Cagayan de Oro City.

To everyone’s delight, the cloudy skies refuse to bleed early rain as the crowd is entertained by TikTok Challenge moves by sexy dancers from the 20 municipalities and two component cities of Misamis Oriental.

“We’re so thankful that rain did not fall down early. But the salient point is the 2023 Paglaum MisOr Rise-CDO Cup pushes through as originally scheduled to open today (January 9) despite our short preparation,” Misamis Oriental sports team manager and overseer Marilyn Unabia-Martinez told Gold Star Daily.

Misamis Oriental consultant Lyn Paguidopon-Sabellano said only the towns of Balingasag and Villanueva failed to submit on time official entries in the week-long tourism-sports festivity.

“We are grateful to Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy for welcoming Misamis Oriental as their partner in promoting socio-economic development in the region through sports and tourism. We are also thankful to Governor Peter ‘Sr Pedro’ Unabia for his approval in the full implementation of the province’s comprehensive sports program,” said sportsman-turned Provincial Board Member Gerardo Sabal III, who also acknowledged Misamis Oriental sports czars Efren Pollentes, and Francis Sean Condeza for their consistency in enforcing the program.
