THE Night Market Management Committee which is chaired by Mayor Klarex Uy himself with former Councilor Eric Salcedo as his co-chair is again into something new for food trippers and excitement seekers. The ala cart section at Ramon Chaves Street of the Cogon night market will have its own version of Sabado Nights where live bands will be bringing joy and happiness with their serenades and songs of all genres.

This is an offshoot of the Love, Dine, and Music of the street foods section in Guillermo streets during Valentine’s Day.

As soon as preparations are in place, the vendors tending the ala cart stalls will be in uniform complete with hair nets and all. And, selling and consumption of intoxicating beverages will also be prohibited to make the section more family-friendly.

The ultimate goal is to make the area a destination for not only Kagay-anons but for tourists from other places as well. So this early, plans are underway to beef up security and improve compliance by stall operators with sanitation and food safety requirements.

Bottom line ― the ala cart section will so be a model of becoming Christian-Muslim friendly.

This is the vision of Mayor Klarex Uy when he tasked the night market team to establish the Cogon night market which will eventually be replicated in other public markets in the City.

So all systems go for Destination: Cogon Ala Cart.
