DIGOS City ― A driver and a laborer were caught in the act of selling illegal drugs to narcotics agents in separate sting operations in Tagum City, and Carmen, Davao del Norte, police reports said.

Lt. Colonel Jeffrey Latayada, Tagum City police chief named the suspects who were caught during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mankilam, Tagum City as Alias “Carl,” 43, driver, a resident of Purok Gulayan, Barangay Mankilam; alias “Domeciano,” 39, a resident of Barangay Suawon, New Corrella, Davao del Norte; and Alias “Aiko,” a water delivery boy, and a resident of Barangay Mankilam.

The joint forces of intelligence operatives and other local police units arrested the suspects when the poseur-buyer successfully bought a sachet of suspected shabu from the driver using the marked P500 bill and counterfeit P1,000 marked money. Another sachet with content was found in his possession, Latayada said.

Meanwhile, a laborer was also caught in Barangay Ising, Carmen, Davao del Norte at dawn on Tuesday wherein two sachets of suspected shabu were seized from the suspect when the sting operation was consummated.

Major Ian James Acal, Carmen police station chief identified the suspect as alias “Dodong,” 24, a resident of Carmen, Davao del Norte.

Two small sachets of shabu (sell and possession) were recovered from Dodong who is among the list of newly identified drug personalities in the area.

More or less 0.25 grams of the prohibited substance with a street value of P1,700 were confiscated and will be used as evidence to pursue his case in court.

All the suspects were placed under police custody while waiting for the commitment order from the court handling the cases.
