Police Master Sgt. Norberto Zafra, Jr., investigator-on-case assigned at Cogon police station, identified the victim as Kervy Gomez of Barangay Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.

The victim sustained a lone stabbed wound on his neck from a sharp-bladed weapon.

Witnesses in the area rushed the latter to Northern Mindanao Medical Center for treatment where he is under observation by the attending doctor.

Zafra said the suspect really had the intention of killing the victim as determined by a deep wound.

He said he is encouraging individuals to come forward for the identity and possible arrest of the perpetrator.

He also considered extracting footage from closed circuit televisions (CCTVs) that are possibly installed near the area.

Gomez, it was learned, has two children.
