DIGOS City ― A joint force of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-11) and police operatives successfully dismantled a drug den, arrested five individuals, and seized P115-thousand worth of prohibited drugs during a buy-bust operation at dawn yesterday.
P/Captain Orlando Udalve, Bansalan OIC police chief said in a spot report said the drug den was located at Purok Sampaloc, Violeta Street, Barangay Poblacion Uno wherein the authorities launched the buy-bust operation at about 3:36 am on Wednesday.
PDEA Davao del Sur Field Officer IAV Mildred Driz-Romero led the operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects inside the suspected drug den following the successful sting operation.
In a spot report, Captain Udalve identified those who were arrested as Rexon Rey Balbutin, 46, a resident of Purok Sampaloc, Barangay Poblacion Uno in Bansalan. The authorities tagged Balbutin as a high-value target in terms of drug trafficking.
The four others are: Dexter Gravador Alberca 39, pedicab driver; Dennis Tampipi Neri alias “Petra”, 43. Both are residents of Purok 7, Barangay Colorado, Digos City; Rey Montojo Pabica, 49, Habal-Habal driver, a resident of Purok Santol, Barangay Kiagot, Digos City; and Shiela Mae Arellano Esposo, 22, a resident of Purok-2, Barangay Baybay, Malalag, Davao del Sur.
Seized from their possession and inside the drug den are; several sachets of suspected ‘shabu’, drug paraphernalia, the marked P1,000 bill used by the poseur-buyer, and a mobile phone, the police report said.
According to the report, the total market value of the confiscated drugs was pegged at P115 thousand.
Cases for violation of RA 9165 will be charged against the suspects who are now placed under police custody.
