A businessman and his truck helper were arrested by Iligan City Police operatives for illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms at 1 pm on Wednesday, this week.
Police Col. Reinante delos Santos, Iligan City Police Office Director, identified the suspects as Salem Diyacat, 28, married, businessman, and a resident of Purok Magnao, Barangay Dulag of the said city; and Jamal Dimatinday, single, truck helper, and a resident of Purok 5, Digkilaan of the same city.
Authorities consider Diyacat a High-Value Individual.
The suspects were arrested by members assigned at the station’s Drug Enforcement Unit, led by Police Capt. Reiner Escalante, in a buy-bust operation at Purok Matinabangon, Barangay Ubaldo Laya of the said city.
Confiscated from the suspects were nine sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P40,800, weighing 6.0 grams, two .38 caliber revolvers with live bullets, and some shabu paraphernalia.
Cases of illegal possession of drugs and firearms are now being prepared against the two.
