SHARIFF Aguak placed a reward money of P150,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest of people responsible for the recent ambush.

Shariff Aguak Vice Mayor Marop Ampatuan called for an emergency Municipal Peace and Order Council last Friday, June 16, to discuss measures regarding the incident.

On the night of June 14, a police patrol car was ambushed along the highway of Poblacion, Shariff Aguak. Police Provincial Office Director Col. Roel Sermese confirmed that, during a routine mobile patrolling, a team of Provincial Mobile Force Company riding the PNP vehicle was heading back to their provincial headquarters when the ambush happened. Two casualties and four wounded cops were reported.

On June 15, PNP-Barmm Director PBGen. Allan Nobleza visited the ambush site and ordered a heightened alert status effective to the entire Maguindanao PNP while a hot pursuit operation is ongoing.

“I highly denounce the act of atrocity perpetrated against our troops,” Nobleza said

He added that his men are on the ground to bring justice to the slain and wounded cops, and to secure the peace and order in the area.

Nobleza said he has activated a Special Investigation Task Group for a speedy resolution to the case.

Meanwhile, Maguindanao del Sur Governor Bai Mariam Mangudadatu visited the four wounded cops confined at the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital, provided them with cash assistance, and shouldered their hospital finances.

Ampatuan is planning to place additional outposts and street lights along the primary roads and routes of Shariff Aguak. He also wants to send his condolences to the bereaved families of the victims.
