Mantawil also calls for the presence of the International Monitoring Team in order to prevent the possibility of future ‘inhumane’ operations similar to what happened in Datu Paglas.

Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-Barmm) Regional Director Brigadier Gen. Allan Nobleza declared that the Husain brothers killed during the serving of a search warrant were members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters-Karialan Faction.

However, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Senior Official and Barmm Senior Minister Abunawas ‘Von Alhaq’ Maslamama confirmed that the Husain brothers were legitimate members of MILF National Guard Front, 11th Brigade under Commander George Kasim.

Maslamama is now coordinating with the Peace Negotiating Panel to hold a further investigation into the operation.

He also wants to open up and initiate sufficient discussions between the National Government and MILF about the execution of these kinds of operations within MILF communities for it to never transpire again.

Meanwhile, Maguindanao del Sur Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu personally handed cash assistance to the mother of the killed Husain brothers on June 20.
