Stanley Uriarte, the head of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Planning and Development Office, stressed the need for balanced growth that preserves environmental integrity.

The ECCs outline specific measures and conditions that project proponents must undertake to mitigate environmental impacts.

Currently, Misamis Oriental has 3,451 ECCs out of a total of 7,748 in Northern Mindanao.

In addition, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Misamis Oriental plans to reactivate its Negosyo Centers in the province, with a focus on assisting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The DTI-Misamis Oriental will also collaborate with the Misamis Oriental Hotel and Restaurant Association (MOHARA) to support interested members in enhancing their capacities and developing their products.

The council’s efforts to enhance tourism in the province include the Agutayan Island Development Project, conducting a public hearing on Flight 387 Shrine fees, and engaging in tourism benchmarking activities.
