DIGOS City ― A heated altercation between siblings resulted in a stabbing incident at Purok-6, I-Care, Barangay Ising, Carmen, Davao del Norte at dawn of July 9.

Major Ian James Acal, Carmen police chief in a police report said at about 12:30 am on Sunday a concerned citizen called for their assistance regarding a stabbing incident that took place in Purok-6, I-Care where P/Captain Dennis Ladesma, the deputy police chief immediately dispatched the duty patrol team to the area.

Acal identified the victim as Darwin Bugcal Asil, 19, while the suspect is Armando Bugcal Asil, the older brother of Darwin.

Investigators were told Darwin arrived at their house obviously intoxicated and uttered invectives against Armando that led to a verbal tussle.

In the midst of the heated argument, Armando grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Darwin multiple times hitting his younger brother in different parts of the body.

It was at that moment their father arrived at the scene of the incident where he immediately rushed Darwin to Carmen District Hospital for medical treatment, the report said.

Meanwhile, Armando surrendered to Purok Chairman Jay Balase who brought him to the police station.

The police are yet to get the medical bulletin on the current status of the victim inside the hospital.

Acal urged residents to drink moderately to avoid such kind of untoward incidents.
