Under this program, students are provided with financial assistance in return for their dedicated service in their respective barangays for a period of 15 days.

“SPES aims to empower students by equipping them with real-world work experience while also providing them with financial support for their education and other needs,” said Shiela Lumbatan chief of staff of the City Mayor’s Office Wednesday .

Lumbatan also said it serves as an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable skills, enhance their resumes, and broaden their horizons beyond the academic realm.

“By participating in the ‘Summer Jobber Ko Uy’ initiative, students can make a positive impact on their communities while also learning essential values such as teamwork, responsibility, and professionalism,” said Lumbatan.

Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s administration has been actively supporting the ‘Summer Jobber Ko Uy’ program and promoting its benefits among the youth.

“Mayor Klarex himself has personally urged students to seize this opportunity and make the most of it,” said Lumbatan.

Uy emphasizes according Lumbatan the importance of using the summer break productively, not just by earning money but by also focusing on their education and personal growth.

He (Uy) even encourages students to refrain from engaging in any unhealthy activities or vices, emphasizing the need for responsible behavior and dedication to their studies, she said.

This program serves as a bridge that connects the educational and professional worlds for students.

“It encourages them to gain practical skills, explore different industries, and develop a sense of responsibility towards their communities,” Lumbatan stressed.

By participating in the ‘Summer Jobber Ko Uy’ initiative, students have the chance to contribute to the betterment of their barangays and create a positive impact on society.

In conclusion, she added that the ‘Summer Jobber Ko Uy 2023 Orientation’ marked the beginning of an incredible opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience while earning financial assistance through the SPES program.

“Mayor Klarex’s administration has extended great support to this initiative and urges students to use this opportunity wisely,” said Lumbatan.

She added that by participating in the program, students not only gain practical skills and broaden their horizons but also contribute to the development of their communities and set a strong foundation for their future careers.
