DIGOS City ― A 42-year-old trisikad driver in Davao City is currently facing charges for selling prohibited drugs after the authorities successfully arrested him during a buy-bust operation on July 18.

Major Marvin Hugos, San Pedro police station commander said his team in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-11 launched a sting operation against Jason Malaay Atuel, at Purok-5, San Pedro Street, Davao City at about 4 am, Tuesday.

Atuel, a resident of Purok-15, Sanasa Street, Barangay 76-A in Davao City yielded nine pieces of plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu during the buy-bust operation after selling a sachet of ‘shabu’ to a police operative acting as poseur buyer using a marked P1,000 bill.

Hugos reported that the drug items seized from the suspect weigh more or less 7.68 grams with an estimated street market value of P122,880, and a DDB standard value of P52,224.

The police tagged him as a high-value individual in terms of selling prohibited drugs.

Atuel is now facing charges for violating Section 5, and Section 11 of RA 9165.
