Lumbatan said Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy has shown his dedication to taking care of the environment through the said special project Lunhaw.

“By promoting these sustainable forms of mobility, the project aims to contribute to a healthier environment and enhance the city’s resilience to the impacts of climate change,” said Lumbatan.

Under Mayor Uy’s leadership, Project Lunhaw prioritizes the well-being of both the people and the environment, according to her.

Creating a pedestrian and bike-friendly environment, the project seeks to improve the overall quality of life for residents while reducing the city’s carbon footprint, she said.

Lumbatan also said that by implementing measures that mitigate the impacts of climate change, such as reducing vehicle emissions and promoting active transportation, Mayor Uy demonstrates his commitment to building a greener and more resilient city.

“Project Lunhaw is a testament to Mayor Uy’s vision for a sustainable and livable Cagayan de Oro City,” said Lumbatan.

The project aims to create a green and healthy urban space where people can enjoy outdoor activities and connect with nature.

By transforming Plaza Divisoria into an eco-friendly area, the project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the city but also provides a safe and accessible space for the community.

Through this project, Lumbatan explained that Mayor Uy exemplifies his dedication to the well-being of the people and the environment, fostering a sense of pride and ownership among the residents as they contribute to the preservation and sustainability of their city.

Patrick Gabutina, who is a consultant for Project Lunhaw, and Chief Engineer Armen Cuenca from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) have shared some important information about the project. They want to give us a better understanding of what it’s all about.

They explained that Project Lunhaw aims to transform Plaza Divisoria into a space where people can enjoy nature while also being active.

They want to make it easy for residents and visitors to walk and ride bicycles in the area.

“This will not only promote a healthier lifestyle, but it will also help reduce pollution and make the city more resilient to the challenges posed by climate change,” Lumbatan said.

By creating a greener and more sustainable urban space, Project Lunhaw hopes to make Plaza Divisoria a beautiful and enjoyable place for everyone.

Lumbatan also stressed that the project is an important step towards creating a city that is prepared for the future and cares for both its people and the environment.
