LAPOK Elementary School in the Division of Bukidnon headed by SDS Victoria V. Gazo, District of Talakag 3 headed by PSDS Victor E. Monel has officially commenced its National Reading Month celebration for the year 2023. 

The celebration, which started today, will run until the 28th of November, offering a month-long series of activities dedicated to promoting reading and literacy among students.

Under the guidance of the school’s reading coordinator, Ms. Lindy Lou Villarmia Laga, Lapok ES has carefully designed a range of engaging and interactive reading activities tailored to suit students of different reading levels. 

The aim is to provide a stimulating environment where learners can enhance their reading skills and foster a love for reading.

He believes that reading plays a crucial role in the overall development of the students.

Additionally, Oligario highlighted that the celebration also serves as an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of the school’s reading program.

“Nasa Basa ang Pag-asa!”  Oligario exclaimed, emphasizing the belief that hope lies in reading. 

He expressed his congratulations to everyone involved in organizing the event, acknowledging their hard work and dedication to promoting literacy among the students.

He said that the National Reading Month celebration at Lapok Elementary School is a significant event that aims to instill a lifelong love for reading in IP learners. 

By providing a variety of reading activities and resources, the school hopes to cultivate a nurturing environment where learners can improve their reading abilities, expand their knowledge, and develop critical thinking skills.

Throughout the month, Lapok ES will organize various activities such as storytelling sessions, book fairs, reading competitions, base method, reading pantry, and book donation drives. 

These initiatives are designed to make reading enjoyable and accessible to all learners, regardless of their reading proficiency. 

The school also encourages parents and guardians to actively participate in the celebration by reading with their children at home.

As the National Reading Month celebration kicks off at Lapok Elementary School, the faculty, staff, and learners are excited to embark on a journey of exploration and discovery through the power of reading. 

With the support and guidance of the educators, it is hoped that the event will inspire a generation of lifelong readers who will continue to find hope, knowledge, and joy within the pages of a book.
