MAYOR Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy of Cagayan de Oro has extended warm congratulations to Kenneth John D. Sacala, the SK Chairman of Barangay Carmen, on his election as the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President. 

The announcement was initially made by Shiela Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff of Mayor Klarex Uy’s office.

Lumbatan said, in a gathering of local officials, Mayor Klarex expressed his admiration for Sacala’s achievement, describing it as a source of immense pride and honor for the entire Barangay Carmen community. 

Mayor Uy said that the event marks a historic moment as it’s the first time an elected president of the SK Federation has come from Barangay Carmen.

The SK Federation’s newly elected officers include Charles Slade Piguero from Balulang as Vice President; Zeush Kenan Collantes from Pagatpat as Secretary; Randolph Jay Seno from Barangay 32 as Treasurer; 

Redel Calib Maata from Barangay 35 as Auditor; Angel Jade Pimentel from Barangay 40 as Public Relations Officer; and Andrei Von Luigi Parungao from Bayanga as Sergeant-at-Arms.

Sacala is expected to succeed the outgoing SK Federation President, John Michael Seno, as an ex-officio member of the 20th city council, representing the voice of the city’s youth. 

Sacala’s election was held following a mandatory SK training session facilitated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Initao, Misamis Oriental.

According to Lumbatan, Mayor Uy has shown confidence in Sacala’s leadership skills, praising his dedication and strong leadership for the youth. 

Mayor Klarex further expressed his belief that Sacala has many beneficial plans and programs for the city’s young population, according to Lumbatan.

As the event concluded, Mayor Klarex issued a challenge to Sacala and the entire SK Federation team. 

Lumbatan said the Mayor encouraged them to fulfill their duties most effectively, emphasizing their crucial role in guiding the youth of Cagayan de Oro toward a promising future.
