A prize catch of Ateneo de Manila University in 2018, the five-foot-seven opposite hitter Raagas led the Akari Chargers in snapping their three-game skid, besting cellar-dweller Gerflor, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19 on Saturday, November 18 at the rarely-used Aquilino Q. Pimentel Jr. International Convention Center in Taguanao, Cagayan de Oro City.

This, as PVL star Alyssa Valdez took the spotlight in her full-time return on the rugged floor, spearheading the Creamline’s seven-straight win opposite the PLDT, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 as the Cool Smashers came closer to securing a semifinal seat in the 2nd All-Filipino Conference.

Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy and the City Hall Sports took Saturday’s spectacle across the net as the most opportune time to recognize the accomplishments of Akari’s Raagas and Gerflor head coach Sammy Acaylar, who are both Kagay-anons, by giving them a Plaque of Recognition.

“I’m excited. I was looking forward to this. I knew that this would be one of the chances for some of my family members to finally watch me play since I moved to Manila, especially my grandparents because they’ve always supported me from the very beginning,” later said Raagas on her Facebook post.
