TO avoid penalties, the City Treasurer’s Office has urged business owners in Cagayan de Oro City to renew or file their business permits before the January 20, 2024 deadline.

This statement was made on Thursday by City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan, who emphasized the necessity for business owners in the city to prioritize this important deadline.

During the ‘In Focus’ program series conducted by the City Information Office, Assistant City Treasurer Leonil Mistula addressed the issue and informed the public about the forthcoming deadline.

Mistula mentioned that they are expecting to process around 30,000 business permits for the upcoming year at the City Tourism Hall, starting from January 2.

He warned that failing to settle business permit renewals or filings before the specified deadline could result in penalties or other undesired consequences.

The City Treasurer’s Office advises all business owners in Cagayan de Oro City to avoid such circumstances by taking timely action.

To facilitate a smooth process, Lumbatan explained that the City Tourism Hall will be prepared to handle the anticipated surge of permit applications.

Business owners are encouraged to visit the designated facility to complete the necessary paperwork and fulfill their obligations.

By heeding this advice and promptly renewing or filing their business permits before the January 20 deadline, Cagayan de Oro City’s business owners can prevent unnecessary penalties and ensure the seamless continuation of their operations.

Compliance with local regulations is essential for business owners as it not only protects their interests but also contributes to the overall welfare and development of the city.

Therefore, Lumbatan emphasized that taking the necessary steps to settle business permits promptly is crucial for maintaining a healthy business environment in Cagayan de Oro City.
