TO streamline processes and provide convenience to business owners, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy has encouraged all merchants in the city to renew their business permits through online or walk-in processing at the City Tourism Hall.

The business permit renewal center at the City Tourism Hall will be open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and will also be operational every Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, starting from January 2 to January 20, 2024.

To facilitate smooth transactions and ease the burden for business owners who wish to renew their permits, the City Finance Department, under the leadership of City Treasurer Jasmin Maagad, is now offering online billing and payment services through their website: http://citytreasurer.cagayandeoro.gov.ph/.

For those business owners who prefer to renew their permits online, they can simply log in or register through the following link: services.cagayandeoro.gov.ph/bponline.

Earlier, assistant city treasurer for operations, Engr. Leonil Mistula, emphasized that it is expected for approximately 30,000 business owners in Cagayan de Oro City to renew their permits this year.

Mayor Uy believes that by implementing online options and providing walk-in processing, business owners will find it more convenient and efficient to comply with the necessary permit renewal procedures.

This move aims to lessen the long queues and waiting times traditionally associated with the renewal process, according to Uy.

Furthermore, City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan said the City Government seeks to promote the use of digital platforms to facilitate transactions and provide a more accessible and user-friendly experience for all stakeholders involved.

“By embracing technology, Cagayan de Oro aims to create a business-friendly environment and attract more entrepreneurs to the city,” said Lumbatan.

She said business owners are reminded to take advantage of the online and walk-in options provided by the City Government and renew their permits within the specified renewal period.

“Failure to comply may result in penalties and possible disruptions to their operations,” Lumbatan advised.

In addition to this, Mayor Uy’s initiative to encourage business owners to renew their permits online or through walk-in processing showcases the city’s dedication to improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.

By embracing digital platforms and simplifying processes, Cagayan de Oro strives to foster a thriving business community.
