Throughout the event, speakers urged media professionals to deliver responsible reporting and empower communities with knowledge. They emphasized the importance of promoting peace, particularly in regions marred by conflict, such as Russia and Ukraine.

Addressing concerns about fake news and irresponsible reporting on social media platforms and traditional media outlets, participants called for heightened vigilance and accountability.

The workshop highlighted the need to combat bias and disinformation in news, citing a recent report from the Press Council indicating that 60% of the public believes news sources are tainted by bias or falsehoods.

The workshop concluded with six insightful speeches, covering topics such as “The Theory of Peace Journalism: A Drive Needed in Building a Hate and Violent-Free World,” “Building Peaceful Journalism: The Validity of News in Preventing Conflict,” “Peace-Related Issues from a Media Perspective,” “Building a Sense of Brotherhood and Contribution in Peace Journalism to Prevent Bullying,” “The Role of Media in Nepal’s Peace Process,” and “Peace Journalism and Global Security.”
