This has been the highlight of the message of Larry E. Paraluman,Regional Corn Program Coordinator of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) during the opening program in the conduct of the agency’s third leg of Information Caravan this year, bearing the theme: Tukmang Impormasyon Kaabag Mo sa Kalambuan sa Agrikultura taliwa sa Pagbag-o bag-o sa Klima.

According to Paraluman, the activity is deemed necessary to conduct as the government finds it appropriate to convey the different projects that it can extend to the farmers and fisherfolks, considering that they are the prime movers for agricultural development.

As the presentation of programs and services under the DA’s banner programs, special projects, attached bureaus and agencies transpired during the event, he stressed the farmers’ need to submit a letter of intent to their respective local government unit (LGU) signifying that they are interested to avail various interventions from the department, which are perfectly tailored to their needs.

Paraluman added that this will then be endorsed by their Mayor and will be forwarded to the DA for validation. He further underscored that they should also closely coordinate with their LGU in checking whether or not they have unliquidated use of funds to fast track the release of funds for forthcoming projects and to also monitor if they have complied with the complete documentary requirements needed for the implementation of agri-projects.

The activity was made possible with the participation of around 400 farmers together with their agriculturists and technicians of Misamis Oriental and with help from the Provincial LGU of MisOr. # (DA-10 RAFIS)
