Kidnap victim in Iligan City rescued

ILIGAN City—Police Senior Inspector Peter Rhyan Bahintung, Station 4 Commander at Tubod, revealed in his report that on June 19, 2015 around 4:30 pm received a flash report that a young female was kidnapped and calling for help while on board an automobile with red and black color combination at C3-Road Brgy. Tipanoy, Iligan. The City’s Crisis and Calamity Action Team (C-CAT ) then, composed of the PNP of this city with NBI and AFP immediately conducted an Operation and fortunately sighted the car at CITI Best Lodging House in Barangay Pala-o here.

The suspect then tried to fight back and attempted to run away but were chased and mauled by the bystanders near the said lodge. The authorities identified the suspects as PO1 Alikhan Unos, 33 years old married ,alleged PNP member , assigned at Kapai Police Station and a resident of Bangun, Marawi City and his brother Alihatan Unos, 35 year old married, a businessman, resident of East Rosario Heights, Tubod , this city.

The kidnap victim was brought at Station 4 at Tubod this city and endorsed to the WCPD Section of the same Station. The victim’s (name withheld) said she was jogging when the suspects chanced upon her and forced her to get inside the vehicle.
Confiscated from the suspects were: one .45 caliber pistol (M K IV Brand ), one caliber pistol (Taurus Brand) two magazine assembly for 45 caliber pistol, 1 pellet gun replica of a 45 caliber pistol and one Toyota Corolla with red and black color combination bearing plate no. UFN-318. The suspect Alihatan Unos collapsed and was taken to a hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

To note, C-CAT was formed recently by the city government to address the worsening kidnapping, and other forms of criminality occurring in the city.
