Msgr. Rey Monsanto, parish priest of Eco Church in barangay Kauswagan and Archdiocese consulter said that they are positive that someone will pass before the House of Congress regarding the controversial bill.

“This is just like the controversial Reproductive Health Bill (RH bill). Duna na’y mga attempt nga ilisan na ang definition sa marriage nga it (can only be) done between man and woman,” he said.

He said the Roman Catholic Church has already sensed that one of the legislative agenda under the present administration is same sex marriage considering the penchant of Filipinos for copyingt laws passed in the United States.

Monsanto said the stand of the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is to oppose the three legislative agenda: Population Control, the Divorce Provision, and the legalization of Same Sex Marriage.

“What is natural is considered as moral,” he said.

Monsanto said the CBCP will be tackling the issue on Same Sex Marriage by September, this year.
