TAGUM City– Governor Rodolfo del Rosario recently inducted the new set of officers of the Provincial Alliance of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PADIRRMO) in time for the celebration of the National Disaster Consciousness Month.
The governor lauded the action officers for creating the alliance, emphasizing that a strong collaboration is needed to reduce the impact of disaster in a more timely response.
“PADIRRMO plays a crucial role in saving people’s lives in the province especially in time of emergencies,” Del Rosario said.
He added, “With the steady increase in the number of calamities worldwide, disaster risk reduction and management is very essential for sustainable development.”
Among the action officers from the city and municipal DRRMOs, the alliance is headed by Kapalong Rescue and Emergency Services (KARES) Action Officer and Municipal Administrator Gaspar Balinggao.
PDRRMO Executive Officer Anita Juntilla said that activities for the monthly observation will include symposia in different local government units, Rescuelympics and rescue boat making and race. pna
