“Pantay, pantay po lahat sa pamimigay natin ng mga patrol jeeps na ito, dahil ito po ang tatak ng administrasyong ito. Wala tayong pinipili. Lahat po ay bibigyan. They (townships) are all equal in our distribution of the patrol jeeps, because this is the brand of leadership that the present administration is having. We are not being choosy. All will be given”, declared Secretary Roxas during his message.

SILG Roxas’ visit coincides with the culmination program of the 56th ‘Araw ng Lanao del Norte’ which was attended by provincial employees as well as barangay officials and Deped personnel from the 22 municipalities.

A total of 64 patrol jeeps were distributed by Secretary Roxas in the four provinces of Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte and Camiguin during his two-day tour of northern Mindanao on July 3 and 4, 2015.

“We are very thankful to the good Secretary for his all-out support to the local police force. This will be a great motivation for us to serve the people even better and eliminate all forms of criminalities”, expressed Lanao del Norte Police Director Paitao.

Close to 1,500 KIA Motors Mahindra Enforcer type mobile patrol vehicles are to be distributed in all the cities and municipalities in the country.

The patrol jeeps are not only intended for responding to crime situations, but these can also be used during emergencies like transporting evacuees or delivering relief goods during disasters.

Roxas challenged the LGUs to constantly keep the vehicles in good running condition as well as provide the necessary fuel to enable their police forces to quickly respond to crime incidents and emergencies.

The procurement and distribution of patrol jeeps is part of the overall strategy to reduce crime in the whole country and boost Philippine National Police’s Capability Enhancement Program, a holistic approach which is geared towards lowering crime incidents and empowering the police force and LGUs nationwide.
