CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — In an effort to strengthen the Family Welfare Program (FWP), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) region 10 in support of the Northern Mindanao Federation of Family Welfare Committees (NMFFWC) is set to hold the 1st Mindanao summit on 28-29 July 2015 in Grand Caprice Ballroom, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City. The Family Welfare Program is providing new mechanisms to effectively function collective leadership and corporate social responsibility as keys to workplace productivity and improved worker-management relations.

Topics to be discussed during the summit include human resource, rediscovering and exploring the FWP towards the improvement of the work values, and quality services for private companies.

Further, it will feature series of best practices including an open forum.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Labor and Employment Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz will be the main guest of honor and keynote speaker with no less than 400 active FWP practitioners representing labor and management sectors from estimated 350 companies under five regions in the two-day gathering.

In a statement during the launching, NMFFWC chairman, Florita B. Quijano of Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation said all organized and non-organized family welfare committees in the regional level are encouraged to allow the participation of their safety officers to this gathering.

In full support, DOLE Regional Director Ray-mundo G. Agravante said this serves as an effective forum for labor and management representatives of companies and institutions implementing the FWP to thresh out common issues and concerns relative to the implementation of the program at the company level.

The island-wide event is driven with the theme “Family Welfare Committees in Mindanao: Bridging Connections.” (DOLE 10)
